Organizational Skills and
Editing Efficiency
This project, the largest I've worked on to date, presented numerous challenges that pushed my creative and technical abilities to new levels. I was responsible for filming, editing, and animating the majority of the 26 videos. With so many videos, staying organized was key. I developed a system that allowed me to track progress and manage resources efficiently. This process not only helped me meet deadlines but also refined my editing skills. Through this experience, I learned the importance of being both methodical and adaptable, which has since made me more effective in managing complex projects.
Engaging Young Audiences Through Educational Content
The videos were created with the goal of educating junior high and high school students about the responsibilities of parenthood. The videos were designed to show the realities of parenthood and importance of co-parenting. In addition to these core topics, I had to address sensitive issues like teen violence and teach dry subjects such as budgeting. The challenge was not only in presenting these serious and sometimes difficult subjects but also in keeping the content engaging for a younger audience. I strongly believe in the project’s message, which fueled my motivation throughout the process. This method proved successful, as a follow-up study showed a significant improvement in students’ understanding of the material. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with one student commenting on how much they appreciated learning legal terms, a sign that the content resonated with them in a meaningful way. Out of all of the states that received this grant, ours is seen as the gold standard.
Teaching After Effects to a New Team Member
One of the most rewarding challenges of this project was teaching a temporary hire how to use After Effects. While she was familiar with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere, After Effects was a new and more complex software for her. In just one month, I was able to guide her through the basics, helping her gain enough proficiency to edit videos independently. It was incredibly fulfilling to watch her progress, especially when one of her edited videos was praised by a manager as their favorite. I take great pride in her growth, and even after the project ended, I continued to follow her career development. I have a passion for teaching others and look forward to teaching others.

Establishing Paternity
My heart goes out to anyone who has to go through a legal process, as they can often be confusing and overwhelming. For this video, my goal was to help the public better understand the complex process of establishing paternity. I go to great lengths to make the information digestible. The result was some of my best animations. By combining effective communication with engaging design, I was able to demystify a challenging subject for the audience.

Programs and Initiatives
Our division offers a wide range of programs and initiatives to support parents, including job placement for noncustodial parents and language assistance for those who need it. This video was designed to walk parents through these programs, with the ultimate goal of increasing participation and give parents autonomy in their legal cases.

Teams Video

One of my greatest challenges was creating a video that demonstrated how to use a new group feature in Microsoft Teams for our division, which encompasses hundreds of team members. The video was well-received, and feedback confirmed that it successfully helped team members understand how to use the new feature. It was particularly gratifying to know that this content was shared across such a large team, where it is still being used years later. The demonstrated my ability to communicate complex topics clearly and efficiently to a wide audience.
